  • Fabulous meal last night: easy to book online, welcoming staff, comfortable seating. As a solo diner I felt welcomed and unrushed. Amazing meal of: - appetisers of bread, olive oil and a ricotta and tomato pate - tuna tartare with apple and berries - gnocchi with clams, lemon and sea asparagus (samphire) - I am not a lemon cheesecake - complementary Sicilian Vino Bianco

  • Great food, very tasty and fresh. The pasta al a norma was amazing. There was a bit of a mix up with our starters, but it got sorted. We were moved inside when outside got too chilly. Would highly recommend and advise booking! The desserts looked amazing but we sadly didn't have room.

  • Our last meal in Sicily ended up being the best of the trip. We started with the fried anchovies, which were crisp, flavorful, and a perfect introduction to the kitchen. Alicia had the pasta with anchovies—simple, rich, and beautifully done—while I had the red snapper special, cooked perfectly and served with fresh vegetables. Dessert was the standout: “Non sono una cheesecake,” their playful and beautifully executed reinterpretation with a bright fig-jam center. Easily one of the most memorable desserts we’ve had in Sicily. There was also a very nice amuse-bouche to kick things off, a small touch that really set the tone. The sommelier also deserves a mention: we initially asked for an organic Grillo, but he steered us toward a different bottle from Alessandro di Camporeale—and he was absolutely right. It was vibrant, balanced, and paired beautifully with the seafood dishes. The courtyard setting is charming, quiet, and atmospheric—exactly the kind of place you hope to stumble upon on a Sicilian evening. Warm service, excellent food, and thoughtful details throughout. A perfect send-off meal. Highly recommended.

  • Amazing restaurant in the heart of Ortigia. This place was recommended to us and they were right; food was amazing! The staff is very friendly and recommendations are excellent. We loved everything. Even on a quiet, rainy day on the island, this place was packed. We had the beef tartare, cheesy-tomato, butter-zucchinni flowe-anchovy pasta and yellow tomato pasta; spectacular. The not a cheesecake and babbà were a great finish.

  • Oh, to be me! One might perceive my existence as an unrelenting gauntlet of arduous trials: a day spent meandering through the labyrinthine arteries of Syracuse, a veritable cathedral of sun-drenched stone, punctuated by requisite visits to venerable churches and awe-inspiring cathedrals. And, dare I utter it, a few obligatory sojourns into dimly lit, yet decidedly charming, local taverns. The uninitiated might bemoan such a "hard life." Ha! I chortle with unbridled glee, for this, my dears, is quite simply the life of Riley! And what better way to culminate such a day of peripatetic pleasure than to gravitate towards the fabled Davè Siciliana Taste on the ethereal island of Ortigia? From the very moment one crosses its threshold, one is enveloped in an ambiance of unpretentious elegance, a sanctuary for the discerning palate. The epicurean journey that unfolded before me was nothing short of transcendent. Each dish, a veritable masterpiece of Sicilian culinary artistry, spoke volumes of passion, precision, and an innate understanding of flavour. The antipasti were a prelude of sublime simplicity, each bite a delicate symphony of fresh, unadulterated ingredients. The pasta, oh, the pasta! An edifice of textural perfection and savoury depth, clearly crafted with a reverence for tradition. And the mains, a crescendo of robust, yet refined, tastes that danced upon the tongue like a flamenco dancer's castanets. This, my chums, is not merely sustenance; it is an experience. It is the very quintessence of Sicilian taste, presented with an élan that borders on the divine. Davè Siciliana Taste is an unmissable pilgrimage for anyone who harbours even a modicum of appreciation for the truly magnificent. Go forth, and indulge!

  • We were staying in an apartment very close to this restaurant so decided to try it. Definitely worth booking as it was busy. Great atmosphere in a little square. The service was good and we were made to feel very welcome. The food was excellent. Octopus starter and tuna main course real highlights. Good wine selection too.
